Accepted

The job, that is.
Mike: The Hospital Analyst.
He'll be trading in his scrubs and stethoscope for a laptop and a pager. He'll stay on per diem in the ER. He'll miss doing it full time, but the money was just too good to pass up. Not to mention what an incredible career move this is going to be. He'll be working days, as in regular business hours. He'll be able to work about half the time from home. It will be nice to have him home every night for arsenic hour(as labeled by B.H.)/dinner/FHE/SS&P/bed/to hang out with. We found out yesterday that an offer was coming, today we got the official offer and accepted it. Mike is a little nervous about starting a new job. He'll start orientation in the middle of April. He gave his official notice to his current boss. Ed congratulated him and admitted that he would have been stupid to turn this down, even though it will leave a third whole (one person is leaving the ER, one is on LOA) in the ER. I guess there will be plenty of per diem hours. I hope he loves the new job as much as he loves the ER. If not, this isn't a one-way-ticket.
Isn't it um......weird/messed-up/interesting that they pay someone more to analyze than they do to save people? Nurses are severely under paid.

Doing What?

Painting the kitchen.
Playing outside because the weather requires it, and we don't want to waste that beautiful sunshine.
Shopping at Lowe's because it is my new favorite store.
Building things with wood and Papa's new tools.
Sanding after spackling all of the blemishes that were covered by wall paper.
Planting our sprouts for our garden.
Praying about whether or not to accept the new job that was offered today.
Celebrating Liam's fourth birthday tomorrow.

Water Marbles

We have made some pretty cool discoveries with these lately.
For instance:

They reverse an image, flip it upside down.

They change size, depending on how long you keep them out of the water.
They bounce.
They don't taste.
They shrink down to the size of a piece of rice if you leave them out of the water overnight, but will swell back up when reconstituted.
You can see right through them, but things look upside down.
And.....

Bebe Malade

She has been snuggly, warm, stuffy, sleepy and sweet. She just wants to be held. While normally this job belongs to Mommy, everyone has (gladly) taken their turn in caring for the littlest person in our house. Who doesn't love a snuggly baby?

Get well soon, AudPod.

Sunday Walk

The thermometer got ALLLL the way up to fifty today!! That means everyone outside. What could be better than a Sunday walk with Papa?
All of these picture were taken by Lundi, by the way.
I stayed home with the sick baby.

I think they had a great time. They are all smitten with spring fever.
And I think that Lundi is a pretty good shot.

Truth

I find comfort in the reality that we are sent to mourn with those that mourn. We are not sent to cheer them up. Even though Jesus knew that Lazarus would rise, He did not arrive at the tomb with smiles and assurances that all would be well. The loss was real. It is because He wept at the grave of His friend that I feel I can reach to Him with my own losses.

I’m finding that my faith is rooted in both optimism and tears.

Citing Jane

"Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us." - Jane Austen

Dear Uncle Sam

Could you please expedite the process of mailing my check?
Everyone in our house......

(except for the person who belongs to these little hands)

.......is sick and tired of washing dishes by hand. You see, there are twenty-four meals prepared in this house every day!!! And our family has other things that are much more worthy of our time. Like ice skating at the park across the street, or going to the library, or running around crazy, or playing Yahtzee.
I visited our new dishwasher last week. She is very lonely in the store and yearns to come to our house and live up to her full potential.

Thank you for your consideration.
