Belly Baby

The baby that belongs to these feet....

...loves to sleep on her belly.
Shhhhhh. Don't tell the SIDS prevention advocates.

Cookie Love

Since we weren't feeling well enough to make cookies on Saturday, and since we weren't feeling well enough on Sunday to go to church, we made cookie decorating our Sunday afternoon activity. We had some beautiful creations and a whole lot of frosting covered smiles.

Best of all, the mess was minimal. I finally discovered (why didn't somebody tell me before, I have hated cookie decorating all these years) the ease of frosting bags. I'm not sure if that is what they are called, but let me tell you....they are heaven sent. I filled them with different colors of frosting, then put a twisty-tie in the top so the frosting only came out one end. It was so much better than using bowls and a knife to spread it.

I guess we'll be decorating cookies more often than once every three years.

Lemonade

I love it when my kids are adaptable. On Monday Mike and the kids set out to go skiing. Upon arrival, they found out that since it is February vacation (the kids are out of school for a week), the hours were different and the lifts were closing just as they arrived.
Instead of murmuring and complaining about what they didn't get to do, this is what they did when they got home.......They took all of their gear out of the trunk and skied in the yard. The slopes weren't anything compared to the Main, but they had fun. Way to go kids!!!

I'm A Slow Learner

I have a really good excuse for not blogging lately. You see, we got a new computer. I passed my friendly HP onto the kids and am trying to make friends with this (supposedly) bigger, better, faster and easier to use Mac. Mike has been a Mac man for as long as I have known him but has not (until now) been able to persuade me to take the plunge into the Mac world. Up until now, he has had his Mac laptop and I've had the PC. But in order to satisfy the computer needs of the family, we needed a new computer. Just so I could prove how much I love my husband, I finally consented to switching to a Mac. So, we have two PCs for the kids, the laptop, and this huge, (by huge I mean the hard drive and the monitor. It actually takes up very little space on the dusty desk) beast of a machine that I will never comprehend. I do, however, know how to do all of the essentials (after a little bit of trial and error), like blogging, browsing and e-mailing. I intend to learn to use all of the neat stuff, so as to get my money's worth!

Aspirations

I waited in the van the other night and fed Audrey while Mike ran into the store to get a few things.  Caleb, Lundi, Harrison and Liam went in with him.  Lauren stayed with me and had her fill of Hershey's Nuggets.  She came up to the front seat and asked if she could play with the GPS.  I said sure.  When she touched the screen, the page came on that asks you to choose your destination.   She touched the star icon and said "I wanna go to the sky!"

Treasured Womanhood

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity."
~Margaret Nadauld

The Day?????

Well, the baby was fussy most of the day. She did have an our nap. I took that time to do some cool stuff with the kids. We did some experiments which were inspired by my sister and her kids.

It's been so long since we've done neat stuff like this....that pregnancy got the best of me. It's so nice to be back.

We are taking a little mini vacation to Boston this weekend. It will be fun.

PS-- This photo has nothing to do with this post, I just thought it was pretty. It was taken at an aquarium that we visited last summer.

These Kids

I think they were inspired by something they saw in National Geographic about Africa........

And all it took was a peppermint stick.

This is Lundi.

And here is Harrison....

Lauren

Yesterday Lauren came in after an hour or two of playing in the snow.

She came to me with these cold, rosey cheeks and asked.........

"Mommy, do I have Bite Freeze?"
