Raising The Standards of Raising

After reading my sisters post about the challenges of being a Mother, I took inventory...on myself. And although sometimes I feel like this....
I want to remember this...............
"You can’t possibly do this alone, but you do have help. The Master of Heaven and Earth is there to bless you—He who resolutely goes after the lost sheep, sweeps thoroughly to find the lost coin, waits everlastingly for the return of the prodigal son. Yours is the work of salvation, and therefore you will be magnified, compensated, made more than you are and better than you have ever been as you try to make honest effort, however feeble you may sometimes feel that to be.
Remember, remember all the days of your motherhood: “Ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.” 10
Rely on Him. Rely on Him heavily. Rely on Him forever. And “press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope.” 11 You are doing God’s work. You are doing it wonderfully well. He is blessing you and He will bless you, even—no, especially—when your days and your nights may be the most challenging. Like the woman who anonymously, meekly, perhaps even with hesitation and some embarrassment, fought her way through the crowd just to touch the hem of the Master’s garment, so Christ will say to the women who worry and wonder and sometimes weep over their responsibility as mothers, “Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.” 12 And it will make your children whole as well." Jeffrey R. Holland
....and then do better. I love my children more than I love my bad habits and shortcomings. I will try harder to overcome them. I want to be better for the Lord and for THEM. I realize that I can't be better for one without automatically being better for the other. Isn't the Lord great? I was thinking....what is my definition of a "good Mother?" In summary, it is someone who raises a generation better than her own. I hope and pray that I am doing just that.
I don't want to rush the raising or be so caught up in MY "important stuff" that I ignore or discount the precious moments of childhood. Like these, for example.....

Harrison's deep thoughts.

Caleb testing his own limits....."Should I jump?"

Lundi finding joy in playing with Liam.

Liam discovering that rocks do not taste good.....or maybe they do!

Lundi carrying Liam to wherever he wants to go around the park. She loves being his "other Mommy."
We went to the park with some other HS-ing families today. It was great fun and nice for me to sit and visit with some friends.

Then we came home and did some of this....

Lundi.................Lauren

Mattea

Then we had this very nutritious dinner. (Shame on me.)

Now everyone in the house is doing this......

....and I must join them now. Goodnight to you all.
